Dear Sir,

It has come to my attention that there is debate over whether or not the
"September 11 Victim Compensation Fund" will provide assistance to the
partners and non-biological children of gay and lesbian victims.

It is clear from the daily obituaries in the New York Times that many of the
victims were indeed gay or lesbian. I urge the Department to treat the
families of gay and lesbian victims as you would any other.
