Re: Fundraising Efforts

Dear Sirs/Mmes/Whatevers,
Please be advised that I appreciate the note from the person whom
would prefer not to be identified indicating that the Department of Justice
doesn't know anything about this matter what-so-ever but is preparing
legislation about it all the same.

      Your assistance is appreciated.

>
> This is a response to your e-mail of November 7, in which you requested
information regarding payments made by various charities in the aftermath of
the September 11th attacks.
>
> Please be advised that the Department of Justice does not collect this
information and is therefore unable to respond to your request. The
Department of Justice is in the process of drafting regulations for the
implementation of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001, which
was established by Congress in the Air Transportation Safety and System
Stabilization Act. A substantial amount of general information regarding
the Fund is included in the Notice of Inquiry and Advance Notice of
Rulemaking and in the Press Release dated November 2, 2001, both of which
are available on our website.
>
> If you have any additional questions, or if you require any additional
information regarding the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001,
please contact us.

> Dear Sirs,
> Re: Amounts collected for WTC victims and buildings
> The government has advised me that you are the appropriate agency to
direct queiries to regarding the disposition of funds collected on behalf of
the above.
> It occurs to me that the amounts collected far surpass the cost of
rebuilding the WTC and of compensating each and every one of the victims
appropriately.
> I wonder if I might inquire after a detailed itemization of the
disposition of these funds with regards to whom received them.
>
