I am outraged that gay and lesbian partners of those who died on September
11 are not automatically going to receive the same benefits as heterosexual
spouses. I am extremely disappointed in our country for engaging in such
discrimination. This is especially shocking in light of the recent tragedy,
which supposedly had a "unifying" effect on our country.
