The Gay and Lesbian community has taken yet another blow when it suffers prejudice because of the lack of compassion or insight that certain individuals have in this country. It saddens me that people receive less support, benefits, and are treated as being less patriotic because of who they choose to have a relationship with. I would hope that those who are making the decisions on victims benefits seriously consider the message they send when they treat a selected group of American citizens differently then even those who are not even Americans. Surely we can show support and concern for all those who suffered the loss of a loved one on September 11th. Please do the right, ethical and fair thing and give all those who lost a loved one equal rights and treatment. Support Gay, Lesbian and Transgender partners the same as others.
