Zwick, Director Office of Management Programs, Civil Division U.S. Department of Justice I am writing to urge that Justice Department regulations governing the "September 11 Victim Compensation Fund" ensure that compensation is available to all surviving families of those killed, INCLUDING the committed partners and non-biological children of gay and lesbian victims. Although I am straight I have many gay friends who are in commited relationships that date back before my marriage! Surely they are just as entitled to compensation for their tragic losses as are the married victims' families. How wrong it would be to provide funds to parents of adults who are in long term relationships instead of to the grieving partner! Please use your influence to ensure that justice is done without prejudice.
