Families of gay and lesbian partners

I am concerned that families with partners who are gay and lesbian will
not be recognized in the victim's compensation awards. These families
are as committed and loving of each other as families of heterosexuals.
Their children need both parents as much as my children need their
father and their mother. They are different only in that the law will
not legitimize their relationship.
Please allow such families to receive the same compensation as families
who are legally married.
Thank you for the fine work you are doing. Please let this work be
equal for all victims.
