as the mother of a WTC widow and the grandmother of a 3-year-old who lost his father, I want to take this opportunity to say that the proposed compensation is unfair at best. My daughter and her husband struggled to retain an independent insurance policy which will now be deducted. As a child of divorce and all its attendant financial ramifications, my daughter was vehement about this type of fiscal responsibility. They could have easily used the hundreds of dollars each month for recreation, purchases, travel, etc. but chose to do otherwise. For this to be held against her when others' portfolios, home equity, etc. are not, is an arbitrary decision. No, the government and Mr. Feinberg cannot adjudicate each and every case, but some consideration can be given those for whom their insurance was their only investment. I would appreciate someone down there hearing this plea. I have always been proud to be an American and firmly believe that justice will be done thoughtfully and carefully. Thank you for your consideration.
