Inquiry about benefits


Hi,

I would like to know if it is true that some of the partners of our
homosexual heroes of 9/11 will not be receiving any benefits. As the long
term partner (20 years) of a New York native, I would find that to be
particularly insulting.

While I can see that there could be some concern about fraud, since most
states do not allow legal documentation of these relationships. However,
that is no excuse to pour a pound of salt into gaping wound.

I'm sure that there cannot be more than two hundred of these cases. Whatever
investigation is necessary should be done to ensure that fraud does not
occur. For example, joint ownership of bank accounts or real estate could be
verified. To ignore the loved ones of those who died would be almost as
inhuman as the act itself.
