911DA Story: Story

I woke up to a very sad day, Sept 11th was my father's birthday, it was also the 9th anniversary of his passing. I made myself go to work and while sitting at my desk, I received a phone call from a friend telling me that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I went to the front office to check the TV and they were showing the footage of the second plane hitting the second tower. It was unbelievable and so very scary. At this time my heart sank even farther in my body. What was already a sad day for me, was now one of the saddest for our nation. My father was a veteran of World War II and a very proud American. I was raised to believe if you didn't vote you could not express your opinions. The flag was flown constantly at our house. On my lunch hour, I went to the cemetary and sat with Dad and relayed to him everything that was going on in New York and Pennsylvania. I know he could hear me, and I felt so much better just being able to talk to him about the events, and once again remind him that I love and miss him. He would be very proud to see the patriotism that has come from such a tragedy.
