911DA Story: Story
A panicked teacher walked into our room and whispered something into my chemistry teacher's ear. The teacher left and ours looked on the verge of tears as she announced that "a plane has just run into one of the World Trade Center buildings in New York." I looked around in confusion with the other students, thinking about what a terrible accident that was. How could an airline mess up like that? It wasn't until I walked by another classroom with a TV turned to the news that I found out about the second plane, and realized that this was no accident. Throughout the day our teacher's acted as if nothing had happened. They made an announcement asking all teachers to turn the TV off and proceed as if it was a normal school day, which wasn't the case at all. So here I am a year after the event, in class, trying to remember exactly how I felt when everything happened. It all happened so quickly, nobody had time to prepare themselves for this. In the end, I guess I still don't know my exact feelings, because my exact emotions were covered with confusion.
