I was watching Good Morning America while I was feeding my 4 week old baby, Laney. They stopped talking about their topic and said they were going to a report about the World Trade Center. I saw camera footage of one of the towers smoking due to the huge hole in it. A witness was talking about it sounding like a bomb but others recalled seeing a plane crash into it. Alot of people were confused. Another bomb? A plane crashed into the tower? What was going on? I didn't know what to think! Then, I saw another plane flying too close and it turned almost sideways and crashed into the otherside of the second tower. I went numb. It felt like the world was coming to an end! I called my mother at work to tell her what was going on and how scared I was. Then, another plane hit the Pentagon! It was unbeleivable. I remember asking her "do you think we're about to go to war?" She agreed that's exactly how it seemed. Later, they found another crashed but luckily it didn't hit a building. It was still just as horrible! It seemed like seconds later the beautiful Twin Towers collapsed, one by one. Throughout the day, I most have called her a billion times! I called my best friend, in Indiana and my grandmother. I don't know who all I talked to that day but I know I was really in shock and scared to death of what was about to happen! I almost had an anxiety attack! For the longest time afterwards, the sound of a plane flying over my home, whether they were headed toward or away from Bush Field or Fort Gordon, I felt sick. Still now, one year later, I get upset watching all the news stories and seeing the scenes and pictures. What an awful tragedy!!! I'll never forget it.
