I was sitting at my computer with the TV on to listen to music and it happened. Chaos on the tube. The towers were on fire and the journalist was struggling to explain the situation. I sat there in amazement for an hour, trying to let it all sink in. Then I went outside and looked up. What would I do if I saw a plane exploding into the nearby countryside? Could something so terrible happen here? I ran across the street to my neighbors to make sure they knew and then called my mom. All we could think about was my uncle who we knew would soon be called to war. And he was. He was married a week later and then sent to fight in Afganistan. Luckily he is still alive and I thank God at how blessed my family has been.
