911DA Story: Story

On the morning of September 11, 2001 we were preparing to bury my mother in law. I had turned off Good Morning America at about 8:40 to get my husband and three children ready for the funeral. When we arrived at the funeral home we were unaware of the attack. My nephew told me that the Twin Towers had been attacked by two hijacked planes, and I told him that he had a sick sense of humor when another relative confirmed that it was true. Besides being deeply saddened by the loss of such a special woman we now were in shock about this horrible event. We spent the morning in church and had a luncheon after the funeral. No one wanted to leave the luncheon so we all just sat around to be together.
