911DA Story: Story

On the morning of September 11, I woke up not knowing that this day would be remembered for years to come. I arrived at school and went through first period, still oblivious of what was going on in the world around me. It was only until my second class that my teacher informed us that the World Trade Center had been attacked.
I did not understand the extent of what he was saying until he allowed us to go online to research the event. My computer screen filled with horrible pictures of smoke, airplanes, and the crumbling towers. It was then that I realized how many lives would be changed, and how many people were now gone due to the terrible tragedy.
After school, I rushed to turn on the television to find out more information. I saw the replay of the events of that morning. The stunned look on the faces of the newscasters, the people running down the streets of New York, staring up in disbelief at what was going on before their eyes. It was a horrible shock to the nation and a day I'm sure none of us will ever forget. I wonder if there will ever be a day when the date September 11 will be said without bringing on the rush of emotion that we now associate with it.
