My wife was dying of a rare blood cancer and I waiting for someone at the cancer clinic in Birmingham,Al. to answer my call to see about them administering an unscheduled blood transfusion.While waiting,we turned the tv on just as the second plane hit. Later,tthat day,my wife was admitted to the University of Alabama hospital for the transfusion and we were told that as soon as the transfusion was complete,we would be discharged as they were empting the hospital so they could receive victims from New York.At about midnight,we were told that they would not be receiving any patients.
