911DA Story: Story
I can see everything just like it was yesterday. I cry everytime the news comes on and I am reminded that I could have been killed on September 11, 2001. I was suppose to go into Manhatten to a doctors appointment and I decide not to go just then I turned on the car radio and they were saing that the World Trade Center had been attacked. For the first time in my life I felt helpless. I remember approcahining 149th Street and the Grand Concourse and seeing the second building fall. I was in tears because I could feel all the death and the pain from people that I could not help. See, I am pior military and my job was to help people and defend this country with my life and ironiclly I had just finished my tour of 8 years in the US Army Reserve.
As, the buliding fell i could smell the dust and the smoke and the mere sight of my childhood tumbling to the ground was heartbreaking. In 1968 when I was born the Twin Towers were just being built and I will always remember that shkyline forever. It was part of my life. I lost a good friend because of the WTC attacks and truthfully I will never forgive the people who did it, but I don't agree with making every muslium in the US suffer for something that they had nothing to do with. My friend Mark was only 21 years old and his mother and wife got caught in buliding one and two days later he killed himself.
As long as there are countries who dislike the US and as long as the US gets into everyone elses business we will always become a target of other countries anger. I love the United States of America and I am happy to be part of this great country. I want to thatnk all the people who helped, prayed and were just part of our pain. God Bless you all and Thank you very much. My question is WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
