911DA Story: Story
On the date of September 11,2001 I went to school that morning just as any normal school day. We went through first block just like normal. After break we went into our second block when we got an anouncment that we weren't in any danger, That's when we turned on the television. when we turned on the television the second plane had already hit. In the back of my mind i was thinking we were going to war. If just one plane hit it would have looked like an accident, but the second plane hit and one hit the pentegon.
Every one that i knew that had military parents were going crazy. Kids were crying thinking that there parents were dead. Then we got another anouncment that if we wanted to leave to check on our parents we could go home, or if our parents didn't feel it was safe they could get us out too. I stayed at school that day because my parents didn,t work anywhere close to the pentegon. I was trying to help comfort some friends that had family that worked around that area.
The attacks really didn't affect my family, but i could imagine what it must be like to lose loved ones by a tradgety like that. I had the dream of joining the U.S.M.C. but i wasn't sure now I'm positive i want to join. I love my country, but i always took it for granted like most of us do. It takes a horrific thing like 911 for everbody to realize that America is a great country but freedom is not exactly free.
