I had the radio on and heard that an airplane had hit one of the towers. At first I thought it was a horrible mistake by the pilot. I thought of my daughter who had just been in New York weeks before, touring the towers and other interests in New York City. As the tragic events went on, I felt such panic and sympathy for those poor people on board the airplanes and the relatives who had to deal with it. The live pictures on the television showing the airplanes flying directly into the buildings, actually looked like what you would see in a movie, not in real life.

I think this horrible, unbelieveable day has changed all of us. Yes, even in Kansas.
