911DA Story: Story
It was one of those days where you don't want to get up, but there's school and you know you have to go. I made it to the bus, but it didn't arrive until late. By the time i got to 1st period, my science class, it was 9:02. The 1st plane had already hit, and the second came moments after i walked in the 2nd plane ran into the north tower. The school guidance counselor was inside our room and as i walked in al i could here were my friends yelling,"the world trade centers were hit!" At first, i honestly didn't remember which buildings those were until i looked to my horror onto the television which my teacher had left on. For the rest of the period, every single eye in that classroom had been glued to that tv. Following that period, our principalmade an announcment. The television was scaring some students, and the county had informed all the schools to shut down the televisions. What happened next was completely unpredictable. Students, at first one by one or two by two, then slowly the number of names called increased, until the names would run consectutivly for at least five minutes. There are two girls in te school with my name, so i was called dwn to the office, and to mysurprise there was more then 50 parents in line, waiting to take their child(ren) home. My father was out of town, and i didn't know where he was, bcause he couldn't contact us. By the time i went to 6th period, people had forgotten what the pricipal said, or ignored it. Radios were on, and every shred of news was shared. We all sat with on headphone, crowding to hear details. On the bus, rumors wee flying. The scary thing was there was only at most 5 people. Our bus, usually crowded, was burstingwith space, and in a way it was somewhat creepy. That's when i think the realization finally hit me that something wasn't going to be the same...not for a long time. it took my father a week and a half to return home..and those were some of the most agonizing days i'll remeber. September 11th changed all our lives.. and that's how it changed mine.
