Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I first heard the news while working on my algebra homework. My teacher came in looking nervous, and she announced to us that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center, but she wasn't sure if it was accidental or not. The class began to buzz with noise, but we were told to go on working. When I arrived in my world history class, someone was exlaiming that the Pentagon had been hit. Many in the class (including myself) told them they were wrong, of course it had been the World Trade Center. Then our teacher came in and said that both accounts were true. The class went dead silent. He tried to focus our attention on the conquerings of Alexander the Great. It didn't do much good, especially when the next door teacher came in and announced the towers had collapsed, with over 5,000 people in them. My next class, geograpy, we watched in horror as they announced another plane was missing, and they later told it too had went down. By then, many were crying. We had lunch class during geography, and some of the people in another class fearfully told us that the radio said a plane was circling Oak Ridge...my lord, I thought, if it crashes into one of those nuclear plants we will all die. I remember no one ate anything. The rest of the day passed in a daze. My cousin always went home with me after school, and she said "I remembered what you said this morning." And then it came back to me. Before we had left for school, I had had a bad feeling, but I had thought nothing of it then because, in general, I have always hated Tuesdays more than any day of the week. But there had been an extra feeling that morning. Maybe because they played the song "I've Had a Bad Day Again." Anyway, I had announced to her that something bad was going to happen....but I'm sure it was just a coincidence. However, I now have to turn off the radio if "I've Had a Bad Day Again" comes across the station.
