Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: It began as a typical day, just as most days do. I was pregnant with my third child at the time. I woke up my daughter to get ready for school. We came down about 7:45am to eat breakfast. I had the television on wih cartoons on, as usual. The kids always watch cartoons before school. I remember watching the clock to see if it was 8:30 so that I could send my daughter out to the bus stop. The phone rang and my sister said, "Kath, turn on the news something horrible happened to the twin towers." I flip on the news and there it was tower one with smoke coming out of it. To my surprise, another plane (which I thought was a replay of the first tower being hit) flew into the second tower. I shiver just thinking about it. There I sat, with my mouth open wide, knowing that the people in those buildings probably did not get out alive! Someones father, mother, daughter, and son.... Being pregnant it hit hard and I am not typically an emosional person. By the time the second tower hit, we had missed the bus. After dropping my daughter to school, I headed straight to my sisters house. By this time the plain crashed in Pen. My mother, sister, and I shed many tears that day. I do not know anyone who died or survived that day but, we are all sisters and brothers especially that day. There is a song that is titled "Where were you the day the world stopped turning" (on that September Day). That is where I was. I can only wish this never repeats itself in history again...
