911DA Story: Story

I had just come back from a vacation in Canada with my family on Sept. 10th. I will never forget the closing of the borders & thinking how lucky we were to having gotten over prior to people being stranded for days & weeks.

I was at work when the first bomb hit. Everybody starting gathering around a small tv that someone had to watch the events unfold. We also listened to the radio, via a small radio and on the internet, too.

We were so stunned that is was very difficult to get through the day let alone work.

As soon as I got home I talked with my kids & called all of my family to check up and make sure everyone was okay.

I still can't believe what happened but I knew the minute I saw the first pictures of the plane hitting the World Trade Center that we were under a terrorist attack. I knew it was not an accident.

I was just horrified at the loss of life and the affect it has had on our already struggling economy. As a direct result of it both my husband & I lost our jobs. We always remained optimistic about everything though.

I AM A SURVIVOR!!!!!!!!! I WILL NOT LET THIS ACT OF TERROR INHIBIT THE FREEDOM I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH. LET FREEDOM RING & SEE HOW RESILIENT WE ARE AND WE SHOULD CELEBRATE JUST THAT.

I pray every morning for that I have and what God has blessed me with. I only ask for guidance and that I may be kind and generous with others and treat them as they would want to be treated with RESPECT, sans boundaries.
