Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: My mom picked me up at 7:30 AM Central time. We were going to finish last minute details for my wedding, Oct. 13th. We had to pick up plane tickets for some family members from out of town and pick up my dress, etc... i wanted to stop by my parents house to sat hi to my dad before we started. He opened the front door with a stragne look on his face and said "A second plane just hit the World Trade Center." My mom and I were confused and thought he had misunderstood what they had said on TV. When I finally was told what was going on I got on the phone with my mother-in-law to see if her cousin had made it home from NY yet. She flew out and arrived home at 1AM. she had been to the WTC the day before. While on the phone I heard my dad say " What is that, oh my god they've hit the pentagon." I will always remember this day as the only day I have ever seen my dad show fear!! I canceled all of my plans for the day and I called, my then husband to be, and asked him if he had heard, he said they were all huddled around a radio in the press room listening and no one could get a hold of anyone else to see what it was really like. I couldn't even describe to him what it was like. We spent that night watching the TV trying to make it make sense. We still can't make it a year later. Then we did the candle light vigial with some people at work, we will be making that a yearly tradition as our family grows!!!!!
