Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at work, a small start up company who did government contract work at Pax River Naval Base. The guy in the next cube from me got a phone call from his mother at home, and told him that the first plane had hit.. we had internet access so we immediately went to news websites and I called my husband, who was at home from work, sick with a cold. While I was talking to him, he told me the second plane had hit.. we were all in shock and in disbelief.. the girl who shared a cube with me, said, "Osama"..... We heard there was a television on the 3rd floor, so we all went up there to watch live coverage and some started crying and most stood there in shock. Since we were at the front gate of a military base and close to DC and a Nuclear Power Plant (Calvert Cliffs), we were afraid we might be a target, so our boss told us we could take liberal leave if we wanted..I am a smoker and just needed to be home, in my own living room, with my husband and watch TV and chain smoke..so I left. The drive to work was backed up for miles the following day, due to extra security precations taken to get on base. I will never forget it as long as I live.
