911DA Story: Story

I had gone riding with a friend of mine in another town nearby called Bolton. We had just finished our lesson when the owner of the stables came running up to me asking if I was from New York. I told her that I was actually from Chicago. She then went on to tell me that someone had blown up the Pentagon. To be honest, I thought she had misunderstood, since the Pentagon isnt in New York. My friend and I went back to her house and turned on the news immediatly....I could hardly believe it. I had been so homesick prior to the 11th that I was really depressed, and and that point I was desperate to go home. I had never felt so helpless. I was in a state of panic, because at that time there was no way of knowing how many planes were still in the air and my sister worked in the Sears tower. All I could think was that they might go for that building as well. Luckily, my family was okay. All I can say is that I wish that there had been more that we Americans in other countries could have done. I gave what money I could, but I wasnt allowed to give blood because of the fear of BSE. Goddess bless this country and may all of us regardless of ethnic or religious background come closer and be thankfull we are American.
