911DA Story: Story

On my way to work I listened to the radio announcements, sure the first plane was just an accident. After all, how could that happen in America. Once I arrived at work, the second plane hit. Still in disbelief, I thought it had been blinded by the smoke from the first plane. I refused to accept the truth. The towers fell and the attacks continued as I left work for a doctor's appointment. I was eight or nine weeks pregnant at the time. The doctor's office was silent as I awaited my sonogram. When I finally received my sonogram, I was handed a surprise. On the morning the twin towers fell, I found out I was having twins. I was filled with so many emotions;joy, fear, excitement, trepidation, anxiety, and hope. Frantically, I rushed to call my fiance', a nuclear reactor operator in the US Navy, only to find that I could not get through. More terror swept over my body as I then had to worry about my 4 year old daughter, my TWO unborn children, and the man I loved who could be sent away at any moment. I got through the day, my fiance'was not deployed, and one year to the day, we are married, happy, and have two healthy baby girls. My heart goes out to all who were not so fortunate, those who had to experince loss, be it death, deployment, or a loved one who is missing. God Bless You All...
