On September 11th I became an activist. I am twenty,a college student, and now, I do anti-war, queer, and student of color activism both on and off my campus. September 11th made clear to me the importance of challenging and criticizing our governments blind move to bomb and murder thousands of innocent Afghanistani, and soon, Iraqi citizens. When the towers first fell I was in a state of shock, but as I listened to President Bush's rhetoric (laced heavily with calls for American Manifest Destiny), I found myself enraged and energized for action. I support peace efforts, and I support efforts to stop America's racist, elitist, and economically unsound wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and within U.S. borders.
