911DA Story: Story
I'm a middle school teacher. My daughter's high school called that she was sick, so I left my school to get her to take her home. All the way home, we discussed how she was feeling and what made her sick.
At 8:50 AM, right after I left Susan at home to return to work, I turned on the car radio and listened to the newscasters' broadcast about the disaster that occurred on that day, September 11, 2001. My insides at first reeled and then I thought that this simply had to be a hoax like the broadcast Orson Welles was known for. When I arrived back at school, the office had a small TV on with the video showing the planes hitting the towers . . . the horror was real! This is one memory that I'll never forget.
