On the day of September 11, 2001 I was in the sixth grade at Hunt Valley Elementary school. My school didnt start until 9:00, but when i got to school me or any of my friends didn't know anything about it. I remember going through the first hour of school, when the principal came on to the loud speaker,and told us that we couldn't go outside for recess today. I was so mad, but i had no idea what was going on. We were all wondering why, and my friend Jason had said somebody had dropped a bomb on the white house. We were only in 6th grade so my teacher didn't want to burden us by showing us the news or anything. Alot of students went home early that day, because we only live 14 miles from the Pentagon and kids parents work there for military reasons. That night we kept the news on all night long, watching planes hit the twin towers and the pentagon over and over again. It will be a day that will always be im my memory as a turning point in American history.
