well i was in bed just waking up as my mother woke me up. she said that a plane had crashed into one of the world trade center towers. i ran down stairs to see what had happened the image is forever burned in my memory the billowing black smoke coming out of all sides of the building. it was horific then moments after i saw the next plane hit. at this time we new that this was more then just some freek accident. I had been thinking about joining the army for many years after this attack on our ground and on out nation i felt more and more of a calling to join up. two days after 9/11 i went to the local recruiters stationg and signed up. i left about one month later for atlanta gorgia. from there i went to columbut and fort benning. when i arrived the D.S told us that training had intensafide do to the attack on America. as we started our training i soon started falling out of runs do to pain in my knee. my D.S told me to go to the hospital and i was told after getting many x-rays that i would have to go home and be medicaly disscharged from the ARMY. Even though i was unable to finish what i had started to give to my country i do belive that i as a american felt and reacted to the blatin attack on us indavidualy as Americans. also we as a society reacted quickly and accuratly towards the crimes witch had been pepatrated against us.
