911DA Story: Story

I was at home watching t.v. when the show went off and it was announced that the World Trade Center had been hit. I went into shock and started to cry it was to hard to believe. As a child I visited the World Trade Center, I stood at the top and looked out at what seemed to be the rest off the world. It was horrible to know that my son could not do the same. I thought of all the people in those building and airplanes and prayed to God that those people would survive. The next few days the whole world had changed. I lived 10 miles from McGuire AFB and 30 from Philadelphia they did not know where that last plane was going it was very scary. New Jersey shut down that day many people from here worked in the city and many died. My brother who is in the NAvy was outside of Washington DC that day protecting us as my father and so many others had in the past. Until that day "A day that will live in infamy" was learned in history books or talked about by our grandparents who would have believed that there would be one for the new millenium and a whole new generation. The poeple who died were not millitary it was not there job to die for this country, but they are heroes. September 11th was our nation's darkest yet brightest day. Our country was pulled together and united in ways I had never seen. We were brought together instead of pulled apart.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
