Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: On 9-11-2001 I was sitting at home and my husband was working in Fort Campbell, Kentucky building army barracks. I worked as a deputy jailer at Crittenden County Jail in Marion, Kentucky. I was relaxing and just watching television and all of a sudden they started flashing the news about the World Trade Center and showing the first plane that crashed. I was immediately concerned for my husband because of the kind of work that he done and the location of where he was at that time. As I watched, I remember a feeling of traumatic sadness for the families that had lost their loved ones and the ones that didn't know for sure where their loved ones were. Now, on the anniversary of a year since the nation was upset so dramatically, I feel the loss even more for those people who lost their loved ones because on August 17th, 2002, I too lost my husband of almost 25 years. He and I were with friends in a boat on a Saturday afternoon to just get out of the house and he accidentally drowned. I know the suffering of loss. As the tears well up in my eyes, I too can only pray for some kind of peace in the lives of all of us. This peace can only come from GOD. We must be a nation that will turn to GOD not only in our times of need but on a daily basis for his guidance in our lives. Without GOD in our lives we are nothing. With GOD we have a friend that walks beside us through the trying times as well as the good times. He shall not forsake us, therefore we must uplift our hearts to him and give him control over our lives. In Memory of Randy L.
