I was chatting on an internet chat room that morning when someone said to turn on the TV, a plane had hit the World Trade Center. Immediately I did and watched in horror as the events unfolded. My first thought was that it was an accident, the plane had been having some sort of trouble and ended up crashing into the building. While I was still trying to make sense of everything I saw the second plane approaching the other tower. A sick feeling came over me as I realized that this was no accident, someone was attacking us using our own aircraft as weapons. I woke my husband up and called my parents to inform them of what was going on. Shortly after that the Pentagon was hit, and then Flight 93 went down in a field in Pennsylvania. We all got together as a family that day to comfort and support eachother as we watched the TV for more news. My husband, who is in the Navy, went in to work to see if there was something he could do. I was 8 months pregnant with my 3rd child, it was a very fearful time for me as I worried for my children, my husband, my family, and myself. Thankfully, a year later, we are all fine and together, but we will forever be changed by the events of that day. God Bless the heroes who died that day, the families, and the survivors. We will never forget!
