911DA Story: Story
I was laying in my bed, tossing and turning, when my dad opened the door to my room and called out, Hey, babe, wake up. Usually he just says Holly time to get up, but this time was different, you could hear in his voice it was different. I woke up and he told me to come downstairs and hurry up. So I went down, and he ran down the steps (which he never does) saying something about the WTC just got hit with a plane. I wasent sure if it was a dream or not, sure enough there it was on the news. Later that day I went outside and it smelled different, and I saw smoke up above in a distance, I knew right there it was a horrible attack. I still cry myself to sleep some nights thinking of the what if's, what if we lived there and I lost my parents. Its a horrible thing to do but Im human. Also the attackers were threatening Philadelphia, where my mom works, Im not sure if they will do anything about it, but I dont know. Im just so scared all the time, what if they hit Philadelphia, or New Jersey, what next, the Statue of Liberty? Im not sure how I felt at the time, I know I started to cry, and I called my mom she has a friend that lives down the street from the WTC. Finally she got in touch with her, she was fine, but she had known someone in the Center who passed away. I am so saddend by everything that has happend, its a lot for anyone of any age to handle. Its so sad how in order for us to love our country and put flags everywhere thousands of people need to die first.
My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone. And to all the firefighters and police that risked there lives for everyone, its amazing how much people care about strangers. We need more of them in the world. I will end this now, Never forget 9-11 keep it in your hearts forever....
