911DA Story: Story

On the morning of September 11th, I was sleeping peacefully when my roommate at American University awakened me and told me that "we've been attacked." As the news set in, I began to think of my father and godfather, both of whom have government jobs in Washington. I was worried about their safety, and began making phone calls to try to find out where they were and if they were alright. It was hard to get in touch because cell phones weren't working and their buildings had been evacuated. It was a very scary situation. D.C. became a scary place to live. For example, three days later, American recieved a bomb threat and we had to evacuate the entire campus. After that happened, I was so freaked out that I went to visit my boyfriend in Blacksburg, VA for about five days until I was ready to come back.
