I was was about to begin a six-hour drive to Monroe, LA as part of my job when I heard that the Pentagon had also been attacked. The truck I was driving had no radio so I spent those six hours knowing very little about what was going on. I have never felt so alone in my life. I had to endure the six-hour drive followed by a week in a strange town when all I really wanted to do was go home to my wife. It was spiritual torture.
