911DA Story: Story
I have been revisiting September 11th for some school projects, and because of the one year anniversary. On September 11th, I had just gotten my husband off to work. I was getting my breakfast ready. Usually, I would watch some of the morning programs while I ate. On this morning, I stayed in front of the television for three hours. I would have kept watching, but I had to go to class. My husband called me from work and asked if it was true. We stayed on the phone talking while one of the towers fell. Images I will never forget include people jumping out windows, screaming, people covered in dust, and the smoke as the towers fell down. I have never been so scared taking the bus before. That day it seemed like the world stopped. Our University put televisions on in our buildings tuned into CNN for the next week. People would just stop and block people walking as we all stood in horror watching. As September 11th comes around again, I will never forget the horror that this brought to North America. I feel for those of you who were much closer. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. We will never forget.
