911DA Story: Story

My father immigrated to the United States from Russia as a small boy. He and his family worked hard, he eventually married and enlisted during World War II. He had passed away 10 years before the attack on 9/11/01, but his love and respect for our nation never waivered and he had passed those feelings along to my sister and I. When the attacks came, my feelings were those of disbelief and sickness. When I came home from work, our flag was put out and stayed there lit for weeks. I still feel moments of great sadness that this could happen on our home soil, but we, as a nation of immigrants, still feel an overwhelming pride in the fact we do stand tall and will face any adversity as it comes. God bless us all.
