911DA Story: Story

My day started out like any other day: wake up, get dressed, and have breakfast with the early morning news. Within the next few minutes my eyes would see the horrors to come. I switched on the television and hit channel 11. The first thing I saw were two familiar looking buildings, one with smoke rising out of it, the other looking normal. I didn't quite understand what was happening, so I decided to try another station. Flipping through every channel, I saw the same things: two towers-one fine, the other not. I remebered what was so familiar about them. They were the famous twin towers in New York and one of them had had a plane hit the side of it. Within five minutes, another plane flew into the second tower. Reporters were frantically trying to explain what had just occured. My first thought was, "This isn't happening. It isn't real." The problem was this was real, all too real. Well, I finished my breakfast and got ready to leave for school, the shock still not sinking in. During that day, news spread around school, announcements were made, and yet I still couldn't register the information. For the next few weeks the information was slowly sinking in. To this day I still remeber that plane fly straight into that building and what was left of the reck.
