911DA Story: Story

I work in retail so I have a different schedule every week, I just happened to be off on Tuesday, September 11,2001. I watch the Today Show every morning so that's when I first heard the news that a plane hit the World Trade Center. At first I thought it was an accident, or some foolish stunt gone wrong. A couple of weeks earlier some guy was skydiving and got cought up in the Statue of Liberty, and I thought it was something like that. Then the second tower was hit, I knew something was terribly wrong. Then the Pentagon, then the plane crash in Pennsylvania. I sat in front of the TV pretty much all day. I did have to go out and run some errands, and everyone I saw was feeling the same as me, total disbelief. Later that day, my Dad called me from Rhode Island to see if I was OK. He is a veteren of Second World War and Korea. I said "Dad, they are comparing this attack to Pearl Harbour, is this as bad as that?" And he said "Oh honey, this is much worse than Pearl Harbour, this was an attack on civilians, that's the difference."
Just like people will remember where they were on December 7, 1941, in my lifetime, I will always remember where I was on November 22, 1963 and on September 11, 2001.
