911DA Story: Story
We were eating breakfast & watching GMA when the report came over the air that a plane had hit the North Tower of the WTC. I thought it was like when a B-25 ran into the Empire State Building after WWII but that was a thick foggy day. I couldn't believe that some nut could have flown into the WTC on such a clear day.
While watching, I thought I saw a helicopter flying around to ascertain the damage but that turned out to be a second plane crashing into the other tower of the WTC.
When I learned what had happen and who was responsible. especially when the report came about the Pentagon, I was furious and wanted to sign up for service against the cowards but then I started to cry thinking about all the people that were trapped in those buildings.
As the day continued into days and weeks and months, I became very proud to be an American as we were watching the heroics of all the police & fireman and construction crews working around the clock to save people and to recover the bodies of the victims.
Regardless of the costs, we must continue the war on terrorism until it is wiped from this planet.
