911DA Story: Story

On September 11, 2001, I was 27 years old and mother to a 7 month old baby boy. At the time I had never experienced war, fear, or national saddness as I did on this day and the weeks to follow. Being a new mom, I mourned with the thousands of moms who had lost a child in the attacks. Being a new mom, I was fearful with all the millions of moms who were fearful of the future for their children. One year later I still mourn and I am still fearful, but it hasn't gotten the better of me. In fact it has made me stronger, wiser, less naive, and proud to be an American. I display Red, White, and Blue in rememberance of 9/11, days in Our Nation's history, and the bravery of all Americans past and present.
