On September 11, 2001 I was at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. My mother had open heart surgery on the 7 of September and was still in the ICU department on the 11. I had been spending every night at the hospital with her because she was not doing too well. I remember waking up that morning in the waiting room to a bunch of people crowding around the only tv they had in that waiting room. Looks of complete shock were on their faces as the events unfolded in front of our eyes. My mom was recovering from the open heart surgery and had just suffered a stroke on the 10. They had the tv on in her room while all this was going on and she couldn't make sense of it all. In fact she said that while the news about this horrible event was on, she dreamed that she was there with them and that she was one of the survivors. That was a day that I will never forget, one because of what my mother was enduring and what the families of the loved ones who perished were enduring. May God bless all who lived through this and also the families of the ones who didn't.
