911DA Story: Story
On 9/11, where was I on the day when time seemed to stand still and the face of the nation was changed forever? I had just dropped off my two oldest children at school and had returned home. Upon getting out of their car seats and entering our home, my two youngest children and I proceeded to spend a little quality time playing with a variety of toys. After a while, I excused myself to the dining table to catch a bite of breakfast and a cup of coffee.
On went the television, in order for me to catch up on a little of the latest news. Nothing could've prepared me for what I witnessed next. There in front of me was the pictures of the two planes crashing into the World Trade Center. As the news unfolded, I began to learn of the other two plane crashes as well.
I experienced a multitude of emotions at that moment, from utter shock, to anger, to sorrow and ultimately forgiveness. I ran to the children I had home with me and held them tight, glad to have them with me during this time, and all the while offering a prayer of healing for the victims and those they left behind, as well as a prayer of forgiveness for those who caused such a catastrophic event.
From this moment, until now, and into the future, this day will remain a time for me to reflect up all those whose lives have been changed dramatically by these course of events. My heart goes out to all of you. God bless you all.
