Where was I on September 11? I remember exactly. I even remember what I was wearing. I was attending the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. After my boyfriend dropped me off at the Center for Community Health, I started working at my research assistant job like every other day. However, cnn.com was terribly slow. Soon we found out what was going on. I had a meeting with a school official that day, and I remember thinking how insignificant my problems were after this tragic event. In the school official's office, I ran into the a friend of mine who happened to be engaged to a man who lived just down the street from the WTC, and I wondered anxiously as she tried to get in contact with Reggie. It was one of the most tragic days I will ever remember. My heart went out to all of the people. I will also never forget how the people of Hattiesburg came together. Churches held memorials, people donated blood, and people were just a little bit kinder to one another. I will never, ever forget.
