911DA Story: Story

I worked at the Pentagon for over a year, so I personally knew many of the building workers who were killed or injured in the wedge where the plane crashed. I was attending a trainging class in Crystal City, about five miles from the Pentagon.

When the order came to evacuate the city, I could get no specific information from the police officers and security guards. I feel they were making up things as they went along. I found a telephone line where I could connect my
E-book reader device and download copies of THE WASHINGTON POST and THE NRE YORK TIMES. These news reports gave me a quick briefing as to what was happening during the terrorist attacks.

I then jogged the five miles to the Pentagon to see if I could help out. Since the fire and rescue crews were in place, I used my knowledge of the building and office spaces to help direct the rescuers who brought out the people who were trapped in the wreckage. I stayed at the site for several more days to help direct the rescue teams locate some of the bodies. Then, when I felt I had done all I could do, I went home.
