At the time I was 19 years old. I was at a friends house and I couldnt sleep. I decided to stay up and watch some tv. About 10 minutes after turning on the TV suddenly a NEWS break came on and I started seeing pictures of the World Trade Center on fire. I knew it was real but there was a kind of Surreal feel to what I was witnessing. I sat there in complete shock. Even though I had never been to America I still knew how significant those buildings were. I continued to watch heartbreaking scenes of everything that is good a decent just fall apart. Suddenly the first Tower collapsed and I didnt believe it at first. I remember thinking "that cant have happened". I stayed awake that entire night watching in hope that most of the people had gotten out. The next day I raced home and recorded the coverage. I still have the original Australian News coverage as a reminder of those innocent souls who werent as lucky as others.
