911DA Story: Story
I was at work hearing the news and there is no words to explain the feeling of what I felt. It was like "OH MY GOD". All the employees here at the hospital were in shock in just like another world. No one can believe this was happening here in a place of so much freedom.
When I left to go home there was such a silence in the streets and for NEwark, NJ to be like this was very strange, there was such a silence that you can hear your own heart beat. It was so overwhelming and I cried as I drove home and just hugged my boys and say thank you god for making them and my family safe.
Working in a mental health environment and seeing the high volume of calls that came in from lots of different people that just wanted to know WHY. And to see how our hospital got people together and decided how to help others right away was the most beautiful thing to know that there are people who care, and there are people that have a heart was so heart warming.
My prayers go to everyone today. We all have tears and can feel the pain of losing so many lives.
I just wish one thing that people would take time and just live today and smile and just turn around and help by holding a door or just volunteering in aftershools programs where there is so many kids that just want a friend, just take time to stop the fighting and remember you have a gift today your LIFE.
