911DA Story: Story

I work at home and was busy working that morning. I called my doctor's office around 9 AM to make an appointment and heard the women in the office talking about somebody's son who worked "there" and they were wondering about how he was. At this point, of course, I had no idea what was going on and decided to turn on the television, just in time to see the second plane hit. From that point on I could not turn it off. I called my sister to let her know what was going on. I tried to call my mother, who is a civilian employee for the Navy downtown, but was unable to reach her. I could only pray for her as I watched the proceedings on the television. I saw the first tower start to sway and then collapse and could only wonder why I saw this on the screen, but the news anchors were not talking about it until after it happened. At this time I started to pray for everyone. Needless to say, I accomplished very little work after that point. While I lost no one that day, sitting here and writing about this still makes me cry.
