Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: On September 11, 2001 the day started like any. I am partially disabled & mostly home-bound. I try to keep in touch with an e-mail list that includes members from several countries. From Australia, Canada, England. The first thing I do when I wake up is turn on the TV. It was about 8:50AM. I clicked on "Good Morning America". Saw the smoke & flame from the first strike. Then I saw the second strike. I called my husband. I called a special friend. Then I sat down at my computer, here in the bedroom, right in front of the TV. That I think saved my sanity. I sent a message with the basic details to the group. From then until late evening the day's horrors went in my ears (mostly), eyes & out my fingers. At first I sent e-mails everytime it got too long. Then every half hour. The number was over 25. Many on the list had no contact with information. One friend, in Canada, was at work at a college business school. They had many graduates working in the WTC. My posts were printed out & passed out. An English member kept her neighbors informed. The other group members thought I had done them a favor when in actuality, their need for information kept me connected & I believe sane. It was several months before I could turn on the TV without worrying. And even now I make sure I visit the bathroom first.
